A: Modern car keys contain a small electronic chip that communicates with your cars ignition and computer. When you get a new chip or transponder key it needs to be programmed to your car directly so that the car's build in security systems recognize and accept the new key. Q: "What's involved in programming new keys to my car?"

A: From the moment you call us we'll ask you the year, make and model of your car, then you'll be scheduled into our day as soon as possible! With lockouts and emergency jobs we try to get there as quickly as we can and that will usually be within the hour! Once we arrive we will get your door open and then begin the process of programing a new key (or multiple keys) to your car! The process once we arrive usually takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the programming needs of your car, sometimes longer for certain European cars. For most vehicles we use OEM software just like the dealer but at a fraction of the price (and no tow needed)! We keep most popular car keys on hand but in some cases we will need to order (usually overnight) a specific kind of key fob online to work with your car, in which case we will schedule an appointment for the day the key is planned to arrive. In rare cases we will ask for a deposit to buy the key if it is over a certain dollar amount or if we have to buy directly from the dealer. Only after the new keys are programmed to your car we take payment, and then you're good to go! A: In most cases no, almost all car models require on site programming to your specific vehicle for security reasons. While it is possible to buy keys online yourself and have a technician program them for you, we do not recommend that as some online companies quality control is low and therefore we are unable to warranty our work! You may be able to buy OEM keys from the car dealership but since we are licensed locksmiths we can (in most cases) get the keys for you cheaper and faster! We recommend leaving all key-fob purchases up to us for quality assurance.​

Q: "Can you program After-market keys to my car?"

A: Yes we can! Most of the keys we stock on hand are After-Market since they are more cost effective for our customers. Our After-market keys are usually just as effective as OEM keys and in most cases much cheaper! Some cars prefer OEM Keys, in which case we would instead order them for your vehicle.

Q: "Can you make keys for motorcyles?"

A: Unfortunately no we do not make keys for motorcycles. There are some services in Ventura that may be able to assist you!

Q: Can you program cars using EEPROM/ ECU module writing?

A: Yes we can! We have special tools and software that allow us to program cars that most others cannot due to the programming process and licenses required by the cars manufacturers! We use OEM software to program keys on bench, which takes more time and effort than your average car, some of these cars include older European and some older Asian car models.
